Our Story

The Jerk Joint offers authentic Jamaican and Trinidadian cuisine in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. We serve staples like jerk chicken, oxtails, and curry goat, along with Caribbean-infused dishes such as Killa’ Wings, Jerk-Mex tacos and quesadillas, unique pasta dishes, and more. Don’t miss out on our famous “World’s Largest” Jerk Sandwich!

Founded by Roderick and Fay Godwin, who moved from Florida to the Fox Cities three years ago, The Jerk Joint brings a family recipe for jerk chicken to life. Inspired by Roderick’s father, Phil, who often cooked Trinidadian dishes for friends during poker nights, our menu offers a taste of the Caribbean that everyone can enjoy.

Amazing Food!

“I had "The Worlds Largest Jerk Chicken Sandwich" and it was at least a foot long, with a ton of jerk chicken. I polished the whole thing off it was so good! My wife had a jerk chicken rice and beans bowl, and our daughter had the curry shrimp. As an appetizer we had the "doobie" roll, and it was a large jerk chicken egg roll about the size of a medium burrito! I tried everything, and it was all amazing with great flavor and serving sizes. We were so happy that we found this while in town for a soccer tourney, and will definitely be back next time in Appleton. Happy to support a local owned mom and pop restaurant!”

“Unexpected gem in Appleton. Stopped in around lunchtime on a Saturday. Promptly greeted and invited to sit. Chef came out and talked about the special but we opted for the three meat plate. The food was delicious. Good sized portions and served hot. Lots of great flavors. The place itself was clean and there was good music playing. We had some yummy rum cake for dessert. I would certainly go back if given the chance. Check it out!”
